Nice trip yaar. Our department trip. Me, Shishi,r Chandra, Mohi,t Rakesh, Girish, Saswato and Kishore. Lotsa fun.

Friday 26-09-2008

Started on friday afternoon in Matsagandha express which left LTT at 2.10 pm. Reached Ratnagiri at 9.10 where a car was waiting for us which took us to Ganpatipule. Checked in (Very good rooms and compared to the tariff it was amazing). And had a long walk on the beach. With Kishore and Saswato trying to make us see the various constellations and star shapes. In vain (though I could identify the Big Hunter, the Small Hunter, the Pole Star, Jupiter and Cancer). After going back talked and played cards until everyone decide to sleep after making plan to go for a jog early morning!

Saturday 27-09-2008

We had a nice time on the beach starting with a jog on the beach (its tough). The weather was good and we played the usual beach games. Even had a 100 m sprint in which I finished second last!
Had a great evening supper of hot pakoras and tea and then visited the temple of ganapati.

Sunday 28-09-2008

We checked out at around 2 pm after having another round of the 'kokam' juice. We had hired a car to visit some local places. We were lucky that all the places that we visited were extremely beautiful. The Jaigad Fort the nearby temple the Ratan Durg Fort and the Pawas temple. Each of them were extremely peaceful, full of natural beauty with the mighty Arabian Sea overlooking it. The taxi dropped us at the Ratnagiri railway station where we had our dinner and boarded the Konkan Kanya Express which reached CST at 5.30 on Monday morning.
All in all it was wonderful trip. Especially after the sudden spurge of pressure load in the academics at TIFR.
